| Today, while throwing the J5V ball, I maxed out at around 40 yards.. man, thats only 2/3 of what I used to be able to do but truly.. all this is in an inconvinence. | | |
| My sister can somewhat play lacrosse and I was passing with her in the aisle of Academy. Some store worker was nice enough to lend us a lax ball as he told us that we were the only people he has ever seen touch a stick in the year he has worked there.
She insists on using the guys stick as "it has a big pocket" and "I can hit people with the stick.. very hard too" haha

| It is a great time to be a sports fanatic with baseball in full swing, basketball's free agency coming up and football season right around the corner. Oh, there is also this little event called the World Cup that is being played in Germany. By little, I mean watched by half of the world's population.
'stros finally righted their ship again, having won 3 of the last 4. This doesn't really surprise me as they really never get going until 90 games in to the season. BUT... we still need some hitting.. The infield is built with quality players anchored by Berkman but we need a big bat at right field. Lamb, Lane, and Burke have shown flashes of quality but none have shown it over a stretch of time. If Lamb can continue his hot streak and bat around 300 with some power, then Houston really doesn't need to bring in anybody before the trade deadline. Tavaras is great at what he is doing but he just needs to learn how to slap the ball to the left side of the infield, which is a free hit with his speed. Wilson is turning the corner and is playing to his level. If Lamb can continue to be productive and not be a liability at first base, this will allow Berkman to play right field. Ensberg is capable of much bigger things than what he has shown this first half and Ausmus is just going through one of those slumps. Considering the Astros had only one guy who could hit the first half of the season and had spotty pitching, this is a happy message to be only 4 back of 1st place and 3 back of the wild card. YES!!
Also, the Rocket got rid of bone head Stromile Swift and got in return Shane Battier, who can play defense and knock down threes. But giving up Rudy Gay is hard. However, now, the more I think about it, the better this will be. Jim Calhoun has always gotten the most out of his players, just that he never got them to work together. Ray Allen, Donyell Marshall, Richard Hamilton, Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, etc.. Almost all of those that were productive and hustled for Jim Calhoun have at least decent NBA careers. In this draft, if Marcus Williams can stay out of jail, he will be a quality player. Hilton Armstrong played his butt out for UConn and will also be a star. However, Josh Boone and Rudy Gay have looked extremely lazy and/or indifferent when playing for UConn. Because of that, they have more risk involved with regarding how their pro careers will turn out to be. Houston doesn't need a 3rd superstar on the team, they need a safe choice that will play D and hit open shots. Battier does all that. Rockets need somebody to slow down Kobe, not try to out score him (we already have TMac for that). The lineup of Battier and Alston at guards, Howard and TMac at forwards, and Yao at center sounds like a great lineup to contend for the championship next year. Granted, Yao and TMac have to stay healthy. Also, Howard needs to learn how to pass the ball better while Alston needs to stop trying to be Skip to My Lou.
In other news, I still can't dunk

| To anybody out there that goes to the University of Texas:
If anybody can get me a Rose Bowl ticket that they sell to students in a lottery, I will pay you back for the ticket plus extra, AS WELL AS get you sideline passes to any UT regular season game next year. I can do this because my boss is great friend (went to college together) with Chip, the head equipment manager at UT, and my boss even told me that it will be possible.
Thus, I will repeat it again, this time in an equation:
one ticket for me = me giving you money for 150% of face value + sideline pass to a UT regular season game next year.
Thank you | | |
| Our season is over and we lost to chapel hill college. This
really really sucks. We almost had it, scoring the go ahead
score with 5:39 left. Grr.. I got pelted with popcorn, fluids and
paper products for nothing.
Anyways, that was my boss's last game that he will work at. One
of his best friends is the head guy at Texas so I asked him if I could
get like sideline passes or game tickets to the Rose Bowl and he said
no only because this is the Rose Bowl and they have to take care of
their alumni first, but otherwise, in any regular season game, I would
be able to get sideline passes to a Texas game, which makes me really
really happy for the future. If my dad wasn't here, I would go to
the UT-aTm game.
Back to work.
